I’m going to try the TV idea in my apartment. I hope my neighbors won’t mind the back of my tv protruding into their room.

luv it, you don’t have to be a white person to be a redneck. I’m proof of that.
25 wheelnut53 // Feb 24, 2008 at 7:34 am
you forgot the hands free cell phone.
26 Matt` // Feb 24, 2008 at 8:33 am
The TV thing is actually kinda clever.
Messy as hell from the back, but it looks good from the front.. just need to box in the back of it and clean up the mess and it’d go from “redneck improvisation” to “clever hidden TV”
27 Milander // Feb 24, 2008 at 9:24 am
I’d go for that buried bus, great idea and I wish my Dad’d had one when I was a kid.

the tv idea is like for the sophisticated redneck.
The kind that buys a pair of nose trimmers at Sharper Image and thinks he an entrepreneur

The buried school bus is an excellent idea even if there were only just a few per neighborhood. If you had time to get in it, I could think of no better place to be during a tornado. The folks in Kansas should take heed on this one!
40 carlotta // Mar 13, 2008 at 1:31 am
haha, we used to have this car that had no handles on the doors (both came off during winter when the doors were frozen shut) and my dad drilled little holes in the doors right where the opening mechanism was and the door opened only if you stuck a ten-penny nail in that hole . we also had the glove compartment wired shut with a clothes hanger. it was pretty redneck.

53 Phranchk // Apr 7, 2008 at 12:09 pm
The TV does look good, but if you look at the backside there is a door that opens right into the back of the tv. I hope that’s not a door that’s used a lot.
