Thanks for making me laugh in the morning, funny as. The Crystal Meth: Friend or Foe is classic
HA! These are great.
Regarding the Hornets one. It could be math based, statistics. We always had a few math based experiments when I was in school.
I especially like “What’s my Dog’s favourite Color”
Doesn’t he know dogs only see in black and white? What a shitty science teacher he must have!
@Chris… you might want to go back to your science teacher and learn that dogs do see in color.
roses are red
violets are blue
me say creation
how about you
kill me now
Thanks, hilarious. Some schools make science fairs optional, some make them optional but prod students into doing a science fair project, and some *require* kids to do one whether they want to or not. Which is terrible. And which results in terrible, uninspired science fair projects like these. If 1/10th of the elementary students in the U.S. did science fair projects each year, they’d be 10x as good each year.
Maybe dogs can see in color, but they can’t look up.
I think that says “some say creation”, her head’s in the way. Also, dogs have the equivalent of red-green colourblindness, so they can’t distinguish between green and red objects
That’s “some say creation,” not “me say creation.” Two letters are hidden by the girl.
[...] 41 Hilarious Science Fair Experiments, These make me feel so sorry for the average science teacher. [...]
I LOVE the fact that these kids are coming up with ways to mix video games with science. Regular Einsteins they are!!
Oh, and it was a biology teacher that didn’t teach him about the dogs.
@chris

O.K.-
‘The Ideal Pancreas’ has some potential.
The rest…………..are just disturbing.
Young Republicans make me ill.
“global warming - yeah right!” Why is that there?
climate driven by a gas that comprises 0.038% of the atmosphere in the face of the sun?! yeah right indeed!
Im sorry but, the funniest one up there is that young man with the extememe wood. He can’t help but point at it.
The thing is, many of these probably had “help” from their parents. !!!

Wife, kids and a tractor FTW!
Man, a lot of the girls have horrible posture. The one in ‘The Ideal Pancreas’ looks like she’s got at least 50 lbs on her back, and maybe a rope pulling her shoulders forward.

“Fat Man To Mars” should be an election pledge! A Fat Man To Mars By 2030!
Something tells me the last kid did not get an A on his project.
@Randy - I think you are right that most dogs can’t (or don’t) look up but i know for a fact that Rotweilers do. They are very aware of the space above them.
Where was Cup of Dirt?
The “wasted” kid has Jason Mewes’s face photoshopped onto her body. Which makes it ultra-hilarious.
Bobochimp… The “dogs can’t look up” thing is a reference to a joke in the movie Shawn of the Dead. Dogs can, in fact, look up. And often do.
No unifying theories coming from that bunch, I suppose.
Actually Dogs see in yellow and violet/ultraviolet/who gives a damn.
Maybe dogs can see in color. Maybe the first dog they asked about it was colorblind, and they just stopped there.
It sounds much better to say “Me”, like a caveman, than “Some”
roses are red
violets are blue

And would I spot Kevin Rose there (labelled photoshopped)?
Wow, than you for the laugh. On a curiosity note, how long have you been collecting these photos? One or two implies implicit local knowledge. Forty-One, I’m not sure if i am more worried about you, or the children pictured.

It seems these kids are doing OK given that there’s no more chemistry sets, or physics demonstrations due to liability, and science teachers that are pretty much discouraged from actually taking any non-trivial classes in the science department.

Do you think the tour guides are implying that the future will be jewish?
Blahahahaha at juicy beans! how many is he rollin on?
The last one is the funniest by far, because the imagination conceives the most absurd events that led to the “project”. I imagine the guy forgot about his science project until bedtime the night before, then frantically grabbed two house plants, a bottle of Mt. Dew, some stray pieces of printer paper and a Bic pen. He juiced up plant A with a healthy dose of soda and scrawled out about about 15 lines of “data”, along with what barely qualifies as a title. He stuck it all on a spare piece of poster board and voila! Instant F!
Just wondering where you got all of these pictures. I actually know a few of these kids from subbing in my local school district over the past 4 years.
I recognized Dustin from “Power from the Throne” (at the Canada-Wide Science Fair)
http://apps.ysf-fsj.ca/virtualcwsf/projectdetails.php?id=631&year=&province=&keyword=&name=dustin%20&categoryid=&divisionid=®ionid=
I bet you could find others from the above at the national fair as well, use the virtualcwsf tool to search by project title.
Real science project from my high school science fair…
“What is a rocket launcher?”
Hypothesis - It is a tube that shoots rockets
Conclusion - It isn’t just a tube, it has angles inside it that affect how it shoots.
That was all the guy had on his board…
That one kids sweater just screams “Please beat the crap out of me….Please.”
Holy mother of god. I never realized something like this could be so funny.
These are kids are the future…we are doomed.

I enjoyed the boy’s expression and then seeing the words “Juicy Beans” behind him. There were a few other ones that were pretty funny as well.
…and do you know how we know “dogs see in black and white”? A science experiment..just like that kid did!
Jeeeez. Are kids really this fat?!
Ok, looking at these pics just strengthened my resolve to make sure to look at my kids homework and school projects before they turn them in at school…LOL…
The last one was my favorite–loved the way he just slapped that tape up there, didn’t even try to make it neat at all. He just grabbed some paper, scribbled the words, and slapped some tape on. What a genius.
OH GOLLY MISS MOLLY! That’s sups funny.
Pssst. I totally want that sweater.

wow. not a single comment on how amazingly hot the girl is representing the “who’s your daddy project.”

I love science fair projects but I liked the added comments - they made me laugh!

eternal flames of metal.
OMG! Please tell me that the “creation science fair” entries are hoaxes! Are people really this delusional?
What, nobody did a cup chicks project?
Wow! American kids sure are beaten with the ugly stick! Also, WTF???
The who is your real daddy and the how to start a dot-com projects are reflecting a very urgent need in the parents behind those kids in the pictures.
I wonder why this people are doing so poor in creating something meaningful.
Bad science fair projects…
This gallery of science fair projects is partly funny, partly cringe-worthy, and partly petty and annoying. Some of the projects are weird, but some of the entries are simply mocking the appearance of the kids … and as a former……

These are hilarious. But even funnier are these comments. XD
Nataly: An ‘urgent need for the parents to be behind the children’? Why? Do you think they’re bad projects, or that they didn’t do the work themselves? ‘How to start a dot com’ could be a useful science project. As long as he went into the science and broke down the syntax and different components of and not just the formating and fonts used when creating a site, it’s legit.
The ‘Who’s Your Real Daddy’ experiment, on the other hand, was stolen from Gilmore Girls. She gets an F for PLAGIARISM!!

I love how the ‘Global Warming - Yeah Right’ kids are already rocking the douchebag look, complete with striped shirt and pink polo.
In some of these the kids are funnier than the projects…but the crystal meth one was good.
Don’t blame the science teachers…they can only do so much with what mama sends them. It’s not like college or professional coaching…you can’t go out to recruit the best. Take it from someone who spent 32 years trying to teach science in a public school. It’s not as easy as you might think. It’s a battle with stupid parents and stupid administrators not just with the kids themselves.

ive actually put together a science fair project like the last kid did lol. it got honorable mention.
I suspect many of these projects are the science teacher’s fault.
In grade 6 I did my science project on volcanoes. Some weeks later I brought in my “UFO newspaper clippings scrapbook” for show and tell and the teacher asked me why I didn’t do my science fair project on UFOs “given that you have so much good evidence and research.”
At age 11, I thus had to explain that News of the World articles weren’t exactly evidence and that the UFO thing was just for fun.
that’s beautiful, thank you
Am I the only one terribly disturbed by the “Do Video Games Affect You?”
I get the feeling we’ll be seeing him in the news someday.

I’m not really sure what is everybody is laughing (or crying) about. As someone who has taught 6th through 12th grades over the past seven years, I can assure you all that all of this is par for the course in public schools. I’m sure the science teacher (if indeed these are just from one school) was happy just to have students turn something in. I’ll let you in on a little secret: we teachers don’t really teach anything anymore; we just babysit. And don’t blame us either. With all the new legislation concerning Special Education, No Child Left Behind, and attendance law, there is very little we can do about anything. The thing that discourages me the most is that I didn’t see a single volcano in the entire site!
For what it’s worth, my interpretation of the intended humor on this site is the ironic naming of the projects–not so much the content of the experiments.
What’s My Dog’s Favorite Color?
Best ever experiment. It also has room for expansion in asking, “Can I condition my dog to pick a certain colour based on a voice activated command?”
I hope some poor science teacher didn’t have to carry all this junk to the site to set it up. I’d love to see the data collected to support creation. Roses are red? That proves it!
I laughed and cried alternately for ten minutes with this. Maybe the foot fetish girl plays on our adult roleplay server LOL
Science Fairs rule!!
Ours is tonight.
Can;t wait to see what the kids thought up this year.
Dogs do look up, mine watches geese fly over our house all the time. That may be because he’s a bird dog. I’m not sure.
This will leave a stain was by a young Monica Lewinsky!
I think the second girl is a terriost and is trying to tell everyone at the science fair she has a backpack bomb. I mean look at her title could it be any more straight forward when it says “its all over, US” by us she means everyone but she just doesent have good english language skills.

lol the “do video gmaes affect us?” on looks like the kids been up all night PLAYTING VIDEO GAMES. rofl.
Lyn,
the creation projects on the link were created by middle school and elementary level kids, they are not delusional, they are KIDS. lol
And the high school level was actually quite remarkable.
The project with the soda and plants strongly reminds me of the movie Idiocracy.
I want to hang out with “The Right Wipe” girls! They look like fun!
I was a science fair judge once, and a girl did a test to see if “polly seeds” affect your outcome when taking a drug test. Little did she know, she actually meant “poppy seeds”
why are the pretty ones always creationists?
“Extreme Wood”
Who wouldn’t want that???
I judged a science fair once in high school. I don’t remember anything this bad, but there certainly are some bad ones out there.
These are too funny!
Chris,

OK, I laughed my head off but when I was their age my science fair project was if you boiled sea monkeys, would they survive?
I really don’t see how science teachers need to be pitied. I think these kids have done a great job! It’s inspiring and some of these kids look very proud and rightly so! Go team!
At least these kids are thinking about things and science. And that’s an improvement over 90% of the Adults in America, who basically do not think at all or ever. That may be why we ended up with president Bumble in the white house for the past 7 years.

for some reason, what’s got me laughing so hard I’m between crying and puking is this:
And often do………. lmao
how many of you have anything to do with science, other than being a middle/high school teacher?
I guess the only good one I found was “what’s my dog’s favourite colour”, for the fact that dogs cannot distinguish colours is still quite a lot controversial. In fact, I have noticed a few times that my dog reacts to different colours; I haven’t specifically looked at its behaviour with respect to colours, nor have I ascertained that it was indeed because of the colours, hence that’s inconclusive.
Everything else is…. hum… for the lack of a better word… what are these children taught at school after all? I say this isn’t their fault (that their projects are absolutely meaningless), it’s the teacher’s fault. Really!

Does Bill Cosby know that kid has been raiding his sweater closet?? This is a particularly ugly subset of preteen/teenaged kids, but since science fairs tend to select (unless it’s compulsory) for kids who are, shall we say, more inwardly developed, it’s not a fair sampling.
My only regret is that I can’t see more of the “Moon Babies” poster, perhaps it’s autobiographical.
it’s an american sociological post!!!!!
While it is funny to us, China and India must be laughing themselves silly over it. Now I know why 60+ percent of Americans don’t ‘believe’ in evolution and why people think that a scientific theory is the same as ‘a notion’. Part of the problem is we don’t teach science in this country for the most part, we have someone in front of the classroom droning on about a laundry list of information (water is composed of hydrogen and oxygen, fire is rapid oxidation, the human cell contains 46 chromosomes, an object in motion will stay in motion., et al) kids spit back, and that is science. Kids aren’t taught that science begins, ends and begins again with a question, they aren’t taught to think things out for themselves or that science never claims that something is absolutely true, and more importantly, that scientific theory is not a guess, it is somethning that has achieved critical mass of consensus and has evidence and process to back that up, as well as people constantly looking at it and saying ‘what am I missing’.
These projects show none of that, they show kids who don’t have a clue what science is or how you go about it; instead of learning that, which is the valuable lesson, they learn a bunch of crap that can be spit back on some stupid test. No wonder that more then a majority of americans think creationism should be taught as science, they don’t even have a clue what science is, and I blame the science teachers as much as I do the students. Even at private schools, science before the high school level is a joke, and even much of that is ‘learning facts’ for tests such as the AP and not what sci
