   It’s a german tradition. You hide the pickle on the tree on xmas eve and whoever finds it the next day gets a special present.

   Hehe, the Christmas pickle is very common in some places in the US. It IS pretty odd, though if you’ve never heard of it.

   Oh, of course, the old hide the pickle game. It is a variant of hide the salami that we play at Easter.
