   In the amount of time it takes to tan or burn, the sun would’ve moved enough (relative to him) to blur out the shadow.

   Unless someone kept moving the clothesline.

   Depends on how easily he burns, if he has sunblock on, time of day etc…. I am very fair complected and in midday, midsummer in southern Florida can burn in 20 minutes easily. Looks already like he doesn’t have enough sense to get out of the sun with a sunburn so who knows?
