   good old Tesla experiment…
   this is the same reason that when lightning strikes your car, it doesn’t fry you (contrary to the belief that your tires ground your car..that’s false).

   Even if the spark did hit the guy, the amperage is so low that it would just inflict pain like a tazer and not do any permanent harm.
