   In China, most public toilets are just a hole in the ground….without the tank though. And someone goes around continuously mopping the floor….you can see why!

   it’s an asian-style toilet… you swat to shit in it…. i should know… i’m asian, and i used to used them… :-/

   It looks like a Japanese toilet. You have to squat over the hole to use it.

   There are squat toilets in Africa as well. I even saw one in France once, but that was an anomaly.
