So much competition for the honor, but this album cover just does so many things right.

Love the picture… I’m confused about it though. Gustav Holst was the composer, and Sir Adrian Boult was the conductor. Who the hell are the people on the cover? Doesn’t matter, they have that whole Egyptian Space Spartan thing going on.
Good photo effects, completely removing any sign of his genitalia…..bravo!
If this is Gustav Holst’s the Planets then it makes sense for HALF-NAKED EGYPTIAN ALIENS to be on the cover brandishing phaser like things!
This could be the cover of a Robert Heinlein novel
That is now my favorite album cover of all time. Love to see the back.
Actually I think the image refers to Mars the Bringer of War, the first track and possibly the image reflects Edgar Rice Burroughs Mars series - circa 1920.
OoOo
I have this this album - My mom bought it for me sometime back in the late 70’s. Her intent was to interest me in classical music.
You might want to check out what’s hanging out of the guys “panties” on his left leg. at least it wasn’t the entire ball….. just the container… LOL It’s been a on going family joke.
