Whooops!
Sometimes, not often but sometimes, I really want to see a billion dollar lawsuit.
Since she is 38, chances are she is not hot. It’s probably better that the violation was not prostitution.
Why are traffic violations in a newspaper?
I’ve seen more than a few hot 38-year-olds. C’mon now.
A woman’s honor was besmirched because some county official did not do his job properly. Have you considered how the woman in question should feel when her friends and family who have not read the retraction confront her about the original article. And regardless of what she says, some will never believe her.
She should sue and be paid M$’s so and the officials sacked so that this is a lesson to others in future.
God Bless America!
Goleez, it depends greatly on where she is from.
For instance, if this happened in North Dakota, anyone who saw the report who knew the woman would give her the benefit of the doubt, and probably tease her, and those that thought it was serious would believe her when she explained it was a mistake. Regardless of believing it or not, when speaking to the woman they would be respectful and not confrontational.
Likewise, the woman would most likely understand that people make mistakes, and be happy with the due apology.
Of course, not every place is as great to live in as North Dakota, and not everything works as well here.
You are right, in some places the weak and destructive method of filing a lawsuit may be necessary.
I just hope she doesn’t live in one of those dreadful places.
She probably didn’t want to tell anyone about the speeding ticket, let alone the prostitution thing. : )
she should sue & get lots of money & whoever made that so-called mistake should lose his job.
Why would anyone want to live in North Dakota?
@the dude. your fines and actions of the county aren’t in your newspaper? ours has when land changes owners and how much, when the fireman go out and why, most of the police actions, stuff that happened in court. pretty much everything.
Nope, fines given to individuals aren’t in the newspaper, probably because nobody gives a shit.
@the other dude. Depends on the size of the county. In larger counties and cities, listing all minor violations and such would take up a large amount of the paper, and thus is not included. That being said, I’d love to live in an area where I could read about little things like that.
@ the other dude–our paper doesn’t have that. Too much real crime goes on.
SHE WAS A PROSTITUTE….
whoops, she drove her car wrong.
Missed it by thaaat much, chief?
For you fools thinking she should sue, you’re a bunch of idiots… first she’d have to prove her reputation is WORTH a lot of money. Then she’d have to prove it was damaged. Then she’d have to prove THEY DID IT ON PURPOSE. One thing for sure, she should sue you guys for being morons, there’d be no problem proving that.
