I guess the part saying “taking prayer out of our schools and being able to practice what can only be called evil” means science and mathematics

This lady is so dumb she doesn’t know america is not a country : it’s a continent, which counts more than 50 countries including Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chili, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, etc.

Don’t you think you are being a little narrow minded by limiting wars to holy wars and crusades? Of course an atheist wouldn’t wage a holy war, but they certainly could wage a war for other ideological reasons.

This seems like a petty thing to point out, and isn’t the worst part of the article. (united states of?) Americans and others routinely refer to the United States of America as simply “America.” One could argue that this shows arrogance, but that’s a different issue…

That’s such a load of bull. Freedom of speech, religion and whatever means being able to choose who/what to worship, and whether to worship anything or not. Agnaut said it right - George Washington himself stated that America was not built on Christianity. The founding fathers and presidents of the early US wouldn’t be elected now, because they were ATHEISTS. And thanks to them the US is so f***** great now. Try doing some research, and see when the whole ‘God’ thing came into America in the first place - you’d be surprised how young the whole thing is. The people who are against non-christians and non-believers in general won’t do anything else than take the country down. And if it wouldn’t affect other countries so much, I’d just say ‘go for it’. Remember your anthem? ‘Land of the free’ sound familiar? Where’s the freedom in kicking atheists out for not believing in your- or any other - God. This letter may have been intended as a joke, but there are so many people in the US who feel this way, that just makes me sick to my stomach.
Yup… umm… I have to say that this woman is indeed stupid, but given that it was already assessed let me simply point out that arguing over the internet is like running in the special olympics- even if you win, you’re still retarded. Just remember that there are stupid people out there and until they march with their pitchforks then we have nothing to worry about. For everyone that stands up for Religion this and religion that- there are many who would kill or die to submit freedom of thought and belief. I know that you cannot combat a Christian. Stalin was an atheist. Hitler too had atheist ideas and believed in evolution and “survival of the fittest.”
This lady’s a nut. Atheism is as much a religion as any other.

Chilla, many of the founding fathers, including George Washington, were masons, which requires a belief in a supreme being. thus they could not have been athiests.
