The difference is that the US loves to retouch photos.
The difference is braces, now considering that possibly every american girl has worn braces, its a low blow, and to pick one girl out, why not pick Cheryl Haworth out?
And as for doing it wrong, why not get the mens and womens 4 x 100m relay team up there.
Beth might not be worldst best looking, but i prefer that to that incredible fake smile, and housewife haircut of Shawn. With that look, she probably has hat squeeky american voice saying tháááánk you all the time as well.

Do a Google image search for Beth and you’ll find she looks quite good in most pictures and, all sexism aside, she has a much more classically proportioned, elegant, and frankly hot bod. As far as faces go, I’d certainly prefer someone with well developed frontal lobes and Beth has much more compelling and seductive eyes. I’m sure Shawn is “cuter” and therefore more attractive to the majority of American men - pedophiles and otherwise - but glue some whiskers on her cheeks and she looks like Jerry Mouse…
i did a google image search on both of them and shawn johnson looks like she’s 12 and beth tweddle is not pretty at all. she’s ok with make up but she has funky teeth and a funky nose
It’s not just braces… it’s teeth, hair, skin color, face shape, clothing… So they used a professional picture for Johnson and an amateur one for Tweddle. Johnson’s still prettier. Notice everyone knew what the “difference” was… no one said they didn’t get it.

I think it’s funny. Brits can pick on fat Americans, but then we call out some ugly Brit and their knickers get all bunched up.
We had also had cute girls like Tonia Couch and Jenna Randall at the Olympics, and not all the American girls were cute by any means.
